Thyroid Cancer Patient Mrs. Agnes Ng in Remission

I had my thyroidectomy done in late Dec. 2001 because of thyroid cancer. I was weak and tired and had to lie down and doze off during the day, especially after moving around. I could not work at all and had no energy to talk, no concentration on reading, even watching TV. My whole body muscles ache. I started thyroid hormone treatment and my disability got better but still I could not prolong my daily activities. I had to be in bed around 8 p.m. and got up around 9 a.m. the next morning. I must have my afternoon nap. No serious activity. The medicine gave me back a very basic human life. My face was puffy since the Radioactive Iodine treatment. Unfortunately the function of my immune system gone crazy; it sent out enzyme I don't need. I roused up rheumatism, and further more the flesh and muscle between the joints ballooned up and reddish on my hands up the wrists and toes and soles as well. I couldn't hold anything, especially things with edges. It felt like holding a bunch of sharp nails - pain, that's all I could say! People could see my face and hands puffing up with reddishness under the sun or strong light. It seemed I was going to have lupus. My doctor prescribed medicine, with little improvement, but caused me dizziness and couldn't move around.
